Tornado 2015 Relief!
We continue to pray for the healing and rebuilding of our community and those affected by the recent tornado. GAHFH will accept requests for assistance from low-income families who are uninsured or underinsured with damage from the storms. Please contact our office to set up an initial intake: 972-272-8530.
Garland Area Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)3 non-profit and an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, we partner with local individuals and organizations to provide safe, affordable, energy-efficient homes for low-income families in the Greater Garland area. We are the only Habitat affiliate building homes in Garland. Please browse these pages and learn more about our history, our mission and opportunities to get involved. Garland Area Habitat for Humanity Welcomes New Executive Director!
GAHFH welcomes new Executive Director Christine Hockin-Boyd. Christine has over 30 years of nonprofit experience. She has served in church ministry, chaplaincy, missions, and human and social services. She has received the Nonprofit Leadership Award from Volunteer McKinney twice, and the 2015 Top 25 Women in Business Award from the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. In addition to her full-time position at GAHFH she enjoys writing, speaking, and teaching Bible Study.

Shop for the best deals on paint/supplies, home goods, furniture, appliances, doors, windows, remodeling/building materials and a special selection from White Rock Candle Company. All proceeds from the store go back to build more homes for low-income families in our community. Your donation of items in resalable condition help us help more families. GAHFH receives 3 yr grant from United Way Metropolitan Dallas
Garland Area Habitat for Humanity receives 3 year grant from United Way Metropolitan Dallas for its Garland ISD home build project. Building Trades students in the carpentry and electrical programs from Naaman Forest and North Garland High School build one Habitat house during the school year. Added is a career and college component allowing students to earn college credit through the use of NCCER curriculum. We are pleased to be a United Way service provider. [ ...more
